Most people think that painting water and reflections is a mystery…that it’s done with magical brushes…that it’s impossible to understand. ◊◊◊  It’s simply this. Start with a body of water like a river or lake that has reflections from the other side. The water is pretty much like a mirror. Study the reflection. It is probably reflecting the sky. It has a color of its own…could be muddy from a recent rain. Maybe the wind is blowing. Observe what happens to the surface of the water. The image made by a tree may look broken. Look at the reflection of the trees or house. Paint the reflections the color that you see one by one. Observation is the key.
