Most people think that painting water and reflections is a mystery…that it’s done with magical brushes…that it’s impossible to understand. ◊◊◊ It’s simply this. Start with a body of water like a river or lake that has reflections from the other side. The water is pretty much like a mirror. Study the reflection. It is probably reflecting the sky. It has a color of its own…could be muddy from a recent rain. Maybe the wind is blowing. Observe what happens to the surface of the water. The image made by a tree may look broken. Look at the reflection of the trees or house. Paint the reflections the color that you see one by one. Observation is the key. Accomplished fine art painter.
