The outdoors is a fascinating subject for a painting. Nature has so much to offer: trees, rivers, skies, mountains, grass, sunlight creating deep purple shadows and light yellow highlights, reflections on a lake made up of every color that you can imagine, autumn in all of its splendor, snow that is full of oranges and pinks and blue. And to complement these things, we can add man's creations such as barns and buildings and majestic bridges.

What colors do I use to paint nature? All of them. As many as I can put into a painting. Color is what they are all about.
